Midweek Musings

Can you believe that it is March already? I will already celebrate my 2nd year anniversary as college graduate. For the 1000th time, how time flies!

It’s really hard to watch, read, or listen to the news lately. Tragic earthquakes and calamaties overseas, El Nino, rotating brownout, 2010 Elections mudslinging. But we need to be informed even though we don’t like what see or hear. I’m thankful to God that my family is doing fine in these hard times.

I can’t wait to listen to Lifehouse’s new album Smokes and Mirrors. They are my favorite band for almost 10 years now. And yes I’ve resisted listening to online leaks, I will buy the CD. I already saved money from it. I rarely buy CD these days because I can’t afford to do so but for the artists I love I’m willing to shell out money :D.

Now that the Winter Olympics is over, the US TV shows are back! I miss watching my favorite sitcoms (The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, The Middle, Cougar Town, The Office, 30 Rock,The New Adventures of Old Christine). Those are the shows that I really watch regularly right now. Yes, I’m into sitcoms now. I prefer watching one-hour shows on actual TV (as opposed to online) or DVD marathon (especially for serialized programs).

I’m glad Studio 23 is now streaming The Amazing Race 16 on their website via Catch Up TV. I love that there are shows I could watch online legally. :D . I’m enjoying the season but not as much Survivor Heroes vs Villains, the past 3 episodes were so entertaining. Sadly, I read spoilers of the boot order, well it’s my fault because I couldn’t resist but still I’m enjoying the show but note to self to resist spoilers next time. It’s really hard because I want to discuss the season online but the online forums are so full of spoilers.

Local shows, I’m enjoying ABS CBN’s adaptation of RUBI. I watched the original when ABS CBN aired it during lunch time when I was in high school (in my school most of us go home during lunch break) and I loved that soap because it was something new for that genre because the lead is an anti-damsel in distress. I like the local treatment because they made it campy/comedic with a very good cast. I’m also enjoying Pilipinas Got Talent so far. Over at GMA 7, I sometimes catch their 6pm soap FIRST TIME on the bus ride home, a very cute show because it deals with high school love played by charming actors who are in their early teens (as opposed to other high school themed shows where older actors play teen roles). It will really make you reminisce of your high school days. The show is light to watch and it feels the void G-Mik/TGIS left.

I feel sad with what’s happening in the office lately. Yes, I’m doing good in my job but there is an upcoming change that even though I’m not really involved, I will still be affected definitely
