Billboard Hot 100 (Issue Date: December 24, 2011)

We Found Love spends a 7th straight week atop the Billboard Hot 100 matching Rihanna's longest running #1 songs (Umbrella and Eminem's Love The Way You Lie). Will We Found Love set a new longest staying #1 record for Rihanna next week? Most likely yes as she has a commanding lead on both sales and airplay to the songs next in line: LMFAO's Sexy and I Know It (#2 for the 6th straight week) and Bruno Mars' It Will Rain. Meanwhile, Katy Perry's The One That Got Away climbs #9-#4 this week landing her 6th consecutive top 5 hit. Perry's team is really serious on getting her the 6th straight #1 as well with a price slash at iTunes and a remix of track featuring B.o.B coming up. Will she get the record for most #1 hits on one album? Let's wait and see.

Finally entering the top 10 is T-Pain 5 O'Clock featuring Lily Allen and Whiz Khalifa after staying at #11 for 3 non-consecutive weeks. I thought this song would suffer the same fate of Dev's In The Dark which spent a month going up and down at #11 and #12 but never hitting the top 10 at all. It has not shot anymore as the song plunges to #32 from #24 last week on its 19th week on the chart.

Glee's cover of We Are Young enters the chart at #12 just a notch shy of matching their mash up of "Someone Like You / Rumour Has It" which debuted at #11 a couple of weeks back. It's the second highest charting track from Glee this season and 6th overall. The original from indie band Fun. feat Janelle Monae debuts at #53. On the other hand, their cover of Toby Keith's Red Solo Cup debuts at #92 but it helped boost the original to make a #35-#17 leap this week.

Adele's third official single Set Fire to the Rain jumps #37 to #21 this week. It already spent 15 weeks on the chart because the track has charted a couple of times already even if it was not an official single yet. The song is currently #7 on US iTunes and with rising airplay to boot. It has a good shot to land Adele's 3rd #1 hit in 2012. Meanwhile, her first #1 and Billboard Hot 100's #1 Song for 2011 Rolling in the Deep is the longest chart sitter with 49 weeks on the chart. The song drops to #40 from #36 last week. I do think the song can still chart for the next 3 weeks to make it a full year on the chart (52 weeks).
