Philippine Box Office Roundup 15

Here is this week's Philippine Box Office Roundup, check out the previous roundup here

As always here are some notes and disclaimers:
  • The following box office stats are from the ever awesome Box Office Mojo's Philippine Box Office Index. Thus, my box office comparisons and analysis are only limited to what Box Office Mojo has in its records
  • Studios and local distributors sometimes issues press releases about the box office performance of their movies and there are instances that they do not exactly match the data Box Office Mojo have in hand. I'm not sure how wide Box Office Mojo's scope is with our local theaters but for the purposes of a consistent discussion and analysis I will only focus on the numbers posted at Box Office Mojo.
  • I added some stuff like the Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol box office for 2012 since Box Office Mojo does not include that 2011 holdover on their Top Movies 2012 list. Meanwhile the box office numbers for the holdovers from the MMFF last year are not on BOM's list so they're not on here as well.
  • Box Office Mojo does not have the numbers for Ayala Cinemas Exclusive My Week with Marilyn so it's not on the charts below.

***

The all star casting of Kristin Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron proved appetizing to moviegoers as Snow White and The Huntsman opened strongly earning 41.6 million pesos. The movie's gross already beat the previous Snow White movie Mirror, Mirror which earned 28.7 million during its run last March.

Also opening the same week is the latest Star Cinema romcom Born To Love You starring Coco Martin and Angeline Quinto. The movie earned a solid 29.7 million pesos beating the first week earning of the previous Star Cinema movie Every Breath You Take which took in 25 million pesos on its first week. The aforementioned movie crossed 50 million which is good enough for a movie that basically just had a 2 week run as Born To Love You took a lot of its screens this week.

Other new releases are Piranha 3DD (3.2 million pesos) and SM Cinemas exclusive Gone (1.2 million pesos)

Here are the Philippine Box Office charts (both in dollars and pesos) as I originally posted at the BoxOffice.com forums:
