Billboard Hot 100 (Issue Date: January 28, 2012)

Rihanna's We Found Love logs its 10th week atop the Billboard Hot 100. This is the first song to spend 10 weeks at #1 since 2009's I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas which was #1 for 14 weeks. Rihanna has spent 44 weeks at #1 with all her 11 #1 songs (both lead and featured). Five artists are ahead of her with the most cumulative weeks at #1 record:

79 – Elvis Presley (Pre Hot 100)
79 – Mariah Carey
59 – The Beatles
50 – Boyz II Men
47 – Usher

Adele's Set Fire to the Rain inches closer to the top spot as the song climbs #4-#2. Her sophomore album 21 logs its 16th week at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week, the first album to do since the Titanic soundtrack also ruled the chart for 16 weeks in 1998. There's a possibility Adele could both top the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 in the succeeding weeks. Adele's first two #1 hits Someone Like You drops #10-#16 this week on its 28th week on the chart while Rolling in the Deep is down four notches to #40 this week on its 54th week on the chart, the longest staying song on the chart.

Flo Rida' Good Feeling ascends #5-#3 and its vying to become the dance rapper's 3rd #1 after Low (2008) and Right Round (2009) meanwhile the chances for Bruno Mars to get his 3rd solo #1 (but 4th overall) is looking less likely as It Will Rain has already cooled down in sales (it's no longer in the top 10 on iTunes) and the song drops to #4 this week.

Entering the top 10 this week is rapper Tyga with Rack City climbing #23-#8 this week but on the opposite end after a strong debut at #8 last week Jason Mraz' I Wont Give Up tumbles all the way down to #22 this week. New songs with strong out of the gate sales usually drop the succeeding weeks but if airplay picks up the song could bounce back. Just look at the case of Moves Like Jagger which debuted #8 but dropped all the way to the 60s in the weeks that followed but as the song gained radio exposure the song ultimately climbed its way back to #1. The song is still in the top 20 (down #12-#14) on its 30th week on the chart. Will it also be the case for Mraz? Let's wait and see

Another song that was strong on its debut week was Young, Wild & Free by Snoop Dog & Wiz Khalifa feat Bruno Mars. It entered the chart at #10 but since then dropped to the lower rungs of the chart but the airplay and sales picked up and on its 14th week on the chart, the song earns a new peak at #9.

Also entering the top 10 this week is David Guetta and Nicki Minaj's Turn Me On (up #15-#13), giving Minaj her6th top 10 and Guetta's 4th top 10. Jessie J's Domino (up #17-#15) and Kelly Clarkson's Stronger (up #58-#21) are currently in the US iTunes Top 10 and could likely climb on the Hot 100 Top 10 in a week or two as the airplay for both songs are rising as well.

You can find this week's top debut all the way down to #60 Drive By by Train, the lead single from their upcoming new album. Also entering the chart this week is Snow Patrol's Called Out in the Dark (#78), British boyband The Wanted's Glad You Came (#85), the buzz artist and potential It girl of 2012 Lana Del Ray's Video Games (#91) and Foster the People's Don't Stop (#97). Dropping out this week and retiring to recurrent status are Jason DeRulo's It Girl (peak: 17, 22 weeks), Lil Wayne and Drake's She Will (peak: 3, 21 weeks) and Nicki Minaj and Rihanna's Fly (peak: 19, 20 weeks).
