Bruno Mars' spends his second consecutive week atop the Billboard Hot 100 while Rihanna's "Only Girl (In The World)" drops to #8 this week after surging to #3 last week. Far East Movement's "Like A G6" climbs to #6 this week and has potential to top the Hot 100 with its rising airplay and sales. Maroon Five's album "Hands All Over" failed to top the Billboard 200 Albums Chart this weeks but lead single "Misery" earns a new peak on the Hot 100 as the single climbs to #14 this week.
Five Glee tracks from the season 2 premiere enters the Hot 100 this week led by their rendition of "Empire State of Mind" which debuts at #21. Travie McCoy's "Billionaire" climbs to #26 from #33 last week while two steps below the Glee Cast's cover of the song debuts at #28. The other charted Glee songs are "Telephone" at #23, "Listen" (featuring the vocals of Charice) sits at #38 while "What I Did For Love" missed the top 50 by entering the chart at #51.
Despite the surge of Glee covers on the chart, three long running songs who I thought will drop out this week were not affected at all! The Script's "Breakeven" (43 weeks) hangs on at #50 (it was almost knocked out by that Glee song at #51!) while Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" spends their first anniversary on the Hot 100 (52 weeks on chart) at #43. Longest running song "Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum is still giving a good fight as it climbs to #46 on its 59th week on the chart. Will "Need You Now" have a 60th week on the Hot 100 or will drop out and move to recurrents chart next week? Let's see.
