Short term memory

I was appaled in one of last night's news. IBON foundation conducted a survey about who they want to be the next president if ever Gloria is ousted and guess who came on top? ERAP!!! what are they THINKIN? have they forgotten what he have done? I dont like Gloria too but that does not mean that ERAP is already redeemed. I'm so disgusted how some of the Filipino people are suffering from "amnesia", how could they easily forget that only a few years ago we ousted this president because of all the anomalies and other negative stuff he have done? They want to oust gloria but want erap back? the future is doomed!!!!

ERAP's back on top again? The populace must be going nuts. No doubt, with a population vastly made of uneducateds, ability doesn't matter but charisma does. You shouldn't be amazed, people didn't suffer from amnesia at all, remember how the poor rallied to his cause on EDSA III?

Surely, democracy will never work for our country if the voters took their votes for granted. What we need is an iron-fisted dictator who would forcedfully steer this country
into development. Maybe socialism will work for us, China and Russia were once poor but look on what did
socialism turned them into now?

In a democracy, people have their free will so development rests on what people can achieve, much hardworking populace - the better. The government can make laws and put them into actions, but still people have the free will and choice on what to do. But Filipino's are naturaly lazy!

Say for an example, a class is similar to the Philippines. Ruled by a class presient, he can decide on what to do, he can collect funds, and he can plan class activities. But what if he's classmates were lazy and asa-lang to their class president? The president can motivate his classmates and fellow class officers but can he put them into action? But if he have authoritarian powers, he can put the whole class in a master-planned work, for the benefit of the whole class.

there are two ways in going to that scenario... you could fall like russia or rise like china.

simply put, go the singaporean way or go the cambodian way.

Haha, I would prefer the Chinese way. Why? Because the Singaporeans are ruled by a capitalist authoritarian. Not Cambodia either, they transformed into Marxism thru blood and violence, we can't risk a civil war as they did.

Isn't Gloria your model of a capitalist authoritarian? :D

I think Gloria is a good economist though she's not a charismatic leader. I don't like her because she doesn't have the abilty to overpower her political enemies, she's weak. And not to mention, she's a big liar!

Yeah! She's a good- stateswoman-turned-bad! Back the, she said that she wouldn't run for the presidency - but she eventually did! She denied the Hello-Garci allegations but said "I am sorry" on national TV. She said that the death-penalty would be extended to kidnappers but she recently lifts that punishment away. She's just on the "after start" of her term. Imagine how many lies would she make for the rest of her remaining years as president. She must not let that habit develop unto herself.
